The Wheel Turns...
Nalei's Second Entry
It seems that I have been neglecting this book. Since leaving Emond’s Field, I suppose that events have left me with little time to think of writing things down, and these pags simply faded from my memory. It wasn’t until I went through my pack that I found it, with a few stains, some of them my own blood. But very little ink.
What is there to write?
Our journey through Four Kings, White Bridge, Caemlyn, The Ways, and our battle at the eye of the world, the scars from which make writing this difficult, these have doubtless been recorded by my companions.
But the battle in which we took the horn and the banner has given me pause. I dared not tell the Amyrlin Seat, but I fear that things may be about to change.
I know that Berek fell into the Eye, and even though he appears unchanged, I cannot help but wonder if this has affected him. My dreams have been doing little to reassure me. I know that they are often the product of a confused and fatigued mind, but I cannot ignore the possibility that these ones foretold something.
The entering of the cave, followed by events I believe were symbolized by the erruption. Were these events fated, or were the dreams warning which I failed to heed?
I think it best that I remain with my companions. Besides, I do not think I am ready to enter the Aes Sedai, not with all the internal factions that I cannot begin to understand.
